The Baltimore City University of Maryland Extension (UME) hosted a visit from University of Maryland Administrators, including Dr. Farvardin - University of Maryland Provost, Dr. Wei - Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR), Director, University of Maryland Extension and the Experiment Station, and Dr. Place, Associate Director, University of Maryland Extension.
Everyone was excited about the program and Dr. Nick Place is quoted with this statement:
"I feel that we have an exceptional urban Extension program in Baltimore City. The visit to the community garden was great – to see all the youth & adults working together and learning from one another. I also appreciated the overview of the excellent programs in the areas of urban horticulture, nutrition, finance and 4-H Youth Development. It is evident that Extension is making a great impact in Baltimore City"
