Propiconazole Use (Tilt, PropiMax, Bumper) Should growers include propiconazole in their treatment program, a maximum of two applications of Tilt, PropiMax EC and/or Bumper may be made by ground or air at a rate of 4 to 8 fluid ounces of product per acre (0.113- 0.225 pounds of a.i./acre). Do not apply more that 12 fluid ounces of product per acre per season. Propiconazole products may be applied no later than soybean growth state R5 (pod fill).
Myclobutanil Use (Laredo EC and Laredo EW) Should growers include myclobutanil in their treatment program, a maximum of two applications may be made by ground or air at the following rates: Laredo EC: 1.0 -2.0 oz a.i./acre (4-8 ounces of product per acre) Laredo EW: 1.0 - 2.0 oz. a.i./acre (4.8 - 9.6 ounces of per acre)
A restricted entry interval (REI of 24 hours and a pre-harvest interval (PHI) of 28 days must be observed.
Tebuconazole Use Should growers include tebuconazole in their treatment program, a maximum of two applications may be made by ground or air at a rate of 3-4 fluid ounces of product per acre (0.0813 to 0.1125 pounds of a.i./acre). A restricted entry interval (REI) of 12 hours and a pre-harvest interval (PHI) of 21 days must be observed.
Use of any of the above referenced products must be in strict accordance with the Section 18 label as well as the EPA registered product label. Maryland regulations require that applicators have a copy of the product labels available at the application site at the time of application. The Maryland Department of Agriculture's Pesticide Regulation Section shall be immediately notified of any adverse effects resulting from use of any of the above referenced products in connections with these exemptions.
Section 18 applications for four additional fungicides are currently under review by at EPA. As soon as MDA receives any information on these additional products we will be sure to notify you. We will also be placing information regarding these Section 18s on our website at www.mda.state.md.us.

EPA has registered the fungicide pyraclostrobin (Headline EPA Registration Number 7969-186) for use against soybean rust, bringing to 11 the number of pesticides that are available for use against this pest.
On March 10, 2005, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approved the Maryland Department of Agriculture's request for a Quarantine Exemption under section 18 of FIFRA to allow the use of Domark 230 ME fungicide (tetraconazole), manufactured by Isagro U.S.A. Inc, to control soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi)on soybeans in Maryland. This exemption expires on November 10, 2007.
A maximum of one application of the unregistered product Domark 230 ME, may be applied by ground or air at a rate of 4 - 6 fluid ounces of product/acre/year (0.075 - 0.09 lbs. a.i./acre). A maximum of 250, 000 acres of soybean may be treated in Maryland under the soybean rust emergency exemption. A restricted entry interval (REI) of 24 hours shall be observed. Do not apply Domark 230 ME after growth stage R-5.
Applicator must follow all applicable directions, restrictions, and precautions on the Section 18 label. A copy of the Section 18 labeling must be in the user's possession at time of application. The Maryland Department of Agriculture's Pesticide Regulation Section shall be immediately notified of any adverse effects resulting from use of this pesticide in connection with this exemption.
