Camp Tawasentha – Montgomery County 4‑H Camp

Camp Tawasentha, Montgomery County’s 4‑H Camp, is accredited by the American Camp Association and located at the Western Maryland 4‑H Education Center in Garrett County, Maryland. The residential camp program takes place on a beautiful 1,100‑acre site, and both the program and facilities are ACA‑accredited.

Camp Activities

Campers participate in a wide variety of activities, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • STEM classes
  • Environmental education
  • Cooking classes
  • Daily swimming
  • Campfires
  • Fun challenges
  • And more

2026 Camping Season

Montgomery County 4‑H Camp will offer a five‑day residential camp for the 2026 season.

Dates: July 12–17, 2026 Ages: 8–13 years old as of January 1 of the current year

Cost

  • Enrolled 4‑H Member: $450
  • Non‑Enrolled Youth: $550

Sibling Discount

  • $50 off for the first sibling
  • $25 off for each additional sibling
  • Maximum discount applies to up to three siblings

Examples:

  • Two children = $50 off
  • Three children = $75 off

Need‑Based Scholarships

Scholarships are available for families who qualify.

Registration Process – Registration Is Now Open for 2026!

1. Fill Out the Paperwork

Download and complete the forms found in the Blank Forms Drive
Save completed forms as PDFs. Please do not upload photos of documents.

After completing all forms, proceed to Step 2.


2. Complete Registration

Submit your paperwork using the link provided to upload your completed PDF forms. You will be prompted to upload each required document during the online registration process.

Additional Requirements

  • Attach a recent photo of your child
  • Upload a front and back copy of your camper’s medical ID card
  • Complete the medication information section if applicable
  • All prescription medications must be properly labeled by a pharmacy
  • Any medications, vitamins, or supplements (prescription or OTC) must include a physician’s signature (see page 5)
  • Self‑carry or self‑administered medications also require a physician’s signature (page 6)
  • Parent or guardian signatures are required in all designated sections

3. Payment

Payments must be made by check payable to UMD. Include your child’s name in the memo line.
