Howard County 4-H Fair

The 4-H Online entry system is open and will remain open for entries through July 1st.  Livestock exhibitors need to check the entry system and see if they need to complete the AHQA from the state.

County Fair Information

  • Maryland State Fair pages are published, and the online entry system is open until July 15th.
  • All Indoor entries need to be pre-registered by July 1st.
  • All Market animals (Market Goat, Market Sheep, Market Steer, Market Swine, Poultry, and Rabbit have been pre-entered and are already registered for their respective shows.  NEW Poultry and Rabbits do not need an additional entry.
  • All Breeding (Beef Heifers, Dairy Cattle, Dairy Goats, Meat Breeding Goats, Pygmy Goats, Sheep and Swine) need to be entered on the Howard County Fair site.
  • Dog Agility, Dog Rally, Dog Show, and Horse and Pony Show need to be entered on the 4-H Online entry system.
  • Change for Creative Writing: With the office closed June 30 - July 4th, we encourage youth to email their story to either Rick hodiak@umd.edu or Chris crein@umd.edu. Please submit your story as a PDF.

By virtue of entering, exhibitors hereby acknowledge having read the rules of the Howard County Fair and the department(s) they are entering. Furthermore, exhibitors agree to follow said rules and understand that failure to do so may result in penalties up to and including being banned from the fairgrounds.
