Dorchester 4-H

Dorchester County 4-H Program & Club Information

The Dorchester County 4-H Program has a variety of clubs that meet in various locations across the county. Traditional age 4-H clubs serve youth between the ages of 8-18 as of January 1st. Clover 4-H clubs offer programming for youth between the ages of 5-7 as of January 1st.

County 4-H club information is listed below and includes information about the club organizational leader and their email address. Contact the club leader to let them know you would like to attend their next meeting and to confirm the meeting date, time, and location. Visit a few club meetings from different clubs to help you decide which club seems like a good club for you/your child.

When you are ready to join, talk with the club leader about joining their club. The club organizational leader will have all of the necessary paperwork you need to complete to join 4-H. A youth needs to attend a club meeting to join the Dorchester County 4-H program. Youth can join 4-H anytime during the year; however, if they would like to participate in the Caroline-Dorchester County Fair, they must be enrolled as a member by June 1st of the current year.

If you have any questions, please contact the 4-H Dorchester County Program Assistant at kabbott3@umd.edu or 410 228-8800.

Cloverbuds

Youth ages 5— 7 (as of January 1 of the current year) can join as a Cloverbud member. Youth participate in special programs that are age- and grade-appropriate; and consist of 1 to 1 1/2 hours on specific topics. Cloverbuds are generally members of a current active 4-H club so they can work with older 4-H youth and adult volunteers and leaders with the same interests.
