Sample Instructions:

A reliable species level identification requires a complete sample. The ideal sample consists of the entire plant or insect. Collect fresh specimens. For herbaceous plants, bring the entire plant with the roots intact. Wrap only the roots in plastic. For woody plants, bring ½ to 1 inch diameter branches with leaves pressed flat between cardboard or paper. Do not add water to any submitted samples. For insects, bring them in a sealed bag or container. 

Drop-off Instructions: Place sample inside a bag on outside the Extension office front entrance and complete the Plant Disease/Weed/Insect Identification Submission Form.
